About the book

The adventure begins when an old farmhouse gets salvaged and recycled into Tiny, a snug little house with a big heart -- and WHEELS! With the help of Big Truck, Tiny sets off across America to discover if he is still a real home. Tiny makes friends on the road, like Shiny the Airstream, Waverly the houseboat, and Buster the skoolie. He even goes to a jamboree! After thousands of miles, Tiny discovers that home isn’t a place...it’s a feeling in your heart.

The irresistible rhymes and delightfully detailed illustrations in this new classic from the creators of Sun Kisses, Moon Hugs are sure to enchant children – and the book’s gentle messages about sustainable living and working together will delight parents and teachers as well.

About the Author & Illustrator

Author Susan Bernardo and illustrator Courtenay Fletcher are a dynamic creative team, committed to producing beautiful books to inspire and heal children. In 2012, they published their first book together – a picture book about love titled Sun Kisses, Moon Hugs. This led to a wonderful collaboration with actor LeVar Burton (Reading Rainbow, Star Trek, Roots) on The Rhino Who Swallowed a Storm, a picture book to help families coping with trauma (Rhino has been read aloud by Michelle Obama and sent to the International Space Station for Storytime from Space!).

Sophronia Angelina Temminnick spends her days running around on adventures in her family’s Victorian country home in a very un-ladylike manner. So to prepare her to enter society as she becomes a young woman, her family enrolls her into Mademoiselle Geraldine’s Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality. But the school isn’t what Sophronia expects… firstly, it’s not in any sort of building but a giant, floating dirigible! Although she and her new classmates do learn dance, dress, and etiquette, she soon realizes that the school is also an academy to use feminine guiles for more sinister aims like espionage, manipulation, and even assassination! Sophronia’s lessons at Mademoiselle Geraldine’s include learning how to poison with proper tea service and the ins and outs of the aristocracy from a Vampire. With the author’s dry humor and wit, this series both celebrates and satirizes the steam punk world. An exciting, saucy, and hilarious read! - Linnea
