About Emily Arrow:
Award-winning children’s songwriter Emily Arrow (she/they) is a trailblazer in crafting relevant and meaningful music for children. Emily and her ukulele Bow have delighted audiences worldwide on tour and online, all beginning with her popular Arrow YouTube channel.
Emily is the recipient of multiple songwriting awards including the Lennon Award for Children’s Music, International Songwriting Contest Winner, Parents’ Choice Gold Award, and NPPA. She is also a published author of many books for children including Kids’ Guide to Learning the Ukulele, Kids’ Ukulele Songbook, the picture book Studio: A Place For Art to Start, and the My Feelings, My Choices SEL Series.
A proud graduate of Berklee College of Music, Emily began writing for children over 10 years ago while she was a K-6 music & choral teacher. She brings expertise as an Orff Shulwerk certified educator and mindfulness-based children’s yoga instructor.
Based in Los Angeles, Emily continues her teaching artistry by offering artist residencies, workshops and serving as musical director for Storiwr children’s theater company in Los Angeles.
She is also an official Kala Brand Ukulele Artist, the resident emcee of the Portland Book Festival, and is honored to serve on the board of Literary Arts in Portland, OR.
Entrepreneurial by nature, Emily has also founded multiple businesses including her online school, Arrow Arts and a brick & mortar retail business in 2018 called Singalong Shop. She especially aims to empower girls and LGBTQ+ youth to find and share their own voice through the arts.
