Indies First at Once Upon A Time Bookstore
Once Upon A Time Bookstore is pleased to announce Indies First day, on Saturday, November 25, 2017. Independent businesses throughout Montrose Shopping Park are coming together to celebrate their local bonds as part of the annual Small Business Saturday activities. We are excited to host some special local authors throughout the day (check out our list below) as well as exciting prizes and sales.
Indies First – a collaboration among publishers, retailers, and authors– is an annual campaign to celebrate independent bookstores and the communities that support them. Hundreds of indies across the country will be hosting local authors and holding events on November 25. Other participating Indies First stores and authors may be found on IndieBound.org.
Small Business Saturday, founded by American Express in 2010, is celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It is a day dedicated to helping support the local businesses that help to create jobs, boost the economy, and preserve neighborhoods.

"Bookstores are not just for selling books, they are community spaces, we need them more than we give credit to. Let's connect with our community, our neighbors, booksellers are heros and on the 25th of November let that be known."

A beautifully illustrated non-fiction book that is perfect for those kids who always ask "why?". A perfect book for teachers but also sweet enough to read every night as a bedtime story. The more often you read it, the better you will be at reading large numbers! Has a wonderfully accessible back matter page. - Jessica
